According to multiple reports, the Washington Nationals plan to promote right-hander Luis Perales from Triple-A Rochester. Since transitioning to the bullpen, Perales has been electric, striking out 10 batters in six innings while consistently touching 100 mph.

Daylen Lile's Recent Hot streak
Daylen Lile is heating up for the Washington Nationals. His fourth-inning solo homer Tuesday marked his second home run in as many nights and accounted for all of Washington’s offense.
One of the club’s few consistent bright spots, Lile is batting .429 (9-for-21) over his last five games with four extra-base hits and seven RBIs. After earning both National League Rookie of the Month and Player of the Month honors last September, Lile appears to be finding another gear as the summer winds down and the stretch run begins.
Veteran righty Williams DFA'd, Waldron activated by Nationals
Before last night's game, the Washington Nationals DFA'd, Veteran righty Williams and activated right-hander Matt Waldron, who they claimed off waivers from the Blue Jays over the weekend.
Williams initially signed a two-year deal with the Nationals in December 2022 and went on to spend parts of four seasons with the club (Williams signed another two-year pact in December 2024). He ultimately went 15-21 with a 4.81 ERA in 68 appearances (60 starts).

The Nationals’ offense has not looked the same without James Wood, while CJ Abrams is still working his way back from the injured list. A difficult August schedule may be part of the equation, but whatever the cause, Washington’s once-potent lineup has gone quiet in a hurry.
