Three things to know this morning

  1. The Nationals continue to struggle in Series Openers

  2. It's day of the Lord

Right handed pitcher Brad Lord will make his third start of the 2026 season this afternoon when the Nationals kick off game two of three this afternoon against the New York Mets in Flushing.

  3. For 1st time since 2022, SS Abrams to play 2B in coming days for the Nationals

The Nationals are moving two-time All-Star CJ Abrams from shortstop to second base. Manager Blake Butera made the announcement on Friday prior to the Nationals’ 124th game of the season. Nasim Nuñez will shift from second base to shortstop.
